Christening of Emma van Vollenhoven

The christening of Emma van Vollenhoven, the daughter of Prince Pieter-Christiaan and Princess Anita, will take place today at the Chapel at Het Loo Palace in Apeldoorn.

Emma's godparents are Prince Bernhard of Orange-Nassau, Caroline van der Toorn-van Eijk, Evert-Jan Wamsteker and Alexandra Countess de Witt-Cavard

Date for the Christening of Ariane Announced

The RVD today announced that the christening of Princess Ariane, the third daughter of the Prince of Orange and Princess Máxima, will be held on October 20th, at the Cloister Church in The Hague.

Official Christening Portraits of Isabella

Kongehuset.dk has just released the official christening portraits of Princess Isabella. The set of five images includes a shot of Frederik, Mary, Christian and Isabella with both sets of grandparents (Queen Margrethe, Prince Henrik, John Donaldson and Susan Moody) and a shot with all six godparents. Christening Coverage Begins

The Danish television stations TV2 and DR.dk have already begun coverage of Lilleprinsesse's christening. While the christening doesn't start for another hour and a half; they are talking with journalists, running royal shows (The Princess and The Pea was my fav) and children's programs while we wait for the guests to begin arriving at Fredensborg Palace Church.

A discovery has been made with the online TV2 broadcast, it is only for those who pay for the service, so if you do not pay for TV2, you cannot view the christening at the TV2 site. But this link to DR.dk will open you a new window (Windows Media Player or your selected video viewer) that has the current DR.dk coverage live from Denmark (I have been watching for the past two and a half hours!)

Lilleprinsesse's Christening - Online Viewing

Lilleprinsesse will be christened tomorrow at Fredensborg Palace Church. Here are a few Danish and Norwegian website which will be airing live online coverage of the event:

TV2 - Will begin broadcasting at 8:30am Danish time
DR - Scroll down till you see "Se prinsessedåb på nettet" on the right side of the page. Click on either "Se prinsessedåb på dr.dk.tv" or "Se dåben fra udlandet her" to watch the broadcast. Will also begin at 8:30am

And if none of those work, go to this website and scroll down until you see "Denmark" or "Norway". Click on either of these, and then select dr.dk or nrk.no

Lilleprinsesse Christening Update

Lilleprinsesse will be christened on July 1st, two Saturdays from now, at the Fredensborg Palace Church. The christening is expected to be smaller than that of her older brother Christian's, which was held in Copenhagen.

Two guests have already been confirmed for the event (apart from the Danish Royal Family of course!), TRH the Crown Prince and Princess of Norway. Haakon and Mette-Marit are good friends of Frederik and Mary's, and both are godparents to Prince Christian.

Added: royalcourt.se has also confirmed that HRH Crown Princess Victoria will be attending the christening. Victoria is another of Christian's godparents.
