Joachim & Marie are Engaged; May 24 Wedding

On October 3rd, Kongehuset.dk announced that HRH Prince Joachim was engaged to Miss Marie Cavallier.

On November 21st, the wedding date was announced - May 24th, 2008. Joachim and Marie will marry at the church of Møgeltønder in Southern Jutland. The wedding banquet will be held privately at Shackenborg Castle, Joachim's estate

Marie does a pre-engagement Mary

Prince Joachim and his girlfriend Marie Cavallier are acting more and more like a pre-engagement Crown Prince Frederik and Mary Donaldson. The pair have attended christenings and weddings of friends (like Frederik and Mary did), they have attended sporting events (again like Frederik and Mary did), and now Marie has attended a fashion show at the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair - like a pre-engagement Mary Donaldson did back in days before her engagement to Frederik was officialised in October 2003. Margrethe & Henrik's Press Conference in France

Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik held their annual press conference at their French Chateau in Cahors on August 7th.The pair were asked about their son, Prince Joachim's, relationship with the French-born Marie Cavallier, and while the Queen declined to comment on the rumors of an impending engagement, she did reveal that she had met with Marie and that she was pleased for her son.

Joachim & Marie at Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix

Prince Joachim and his girlfriend, Marie Cavallier, attended the Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix on August 4th and 5th. Joachim was also participating in the event - but was involved in a minor crash and withdrew from the rest of the race. Marie joins Joachim & the boys in France

Danish Royals at Christening of Josephine Fleming

Various members of the Danish Royal Family were in attendance on Saturday June 16th at the christening of Josephine Margaretha Victoria Fleming, the daughter of Rory David & Caroline Fleming. Those in attendance were Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Christian, Prince Joachim with Marie Cavallier, Prince Gustav with Carina Axelsson, Countess Alexandra and Martin Jørgensen. Crown Princess Mary was the baby's godmother.

Kongehuset.dk adds New French Section

Kongehuset.dk, the website of the Danish Royal Family, has been updated to add a new French section.

Could this be because of a possible future engagement between Prince Joachim and the French-born Marie Cavallier? Or is it just a long overdue tribute to Prince Consort Henrik?
